About Doa
Doğa Özilhan is an artist and designer whose practice is rooted in observation, memory, and material.
Her creative journey began in Istanbul, a city layered with culture, craftsmanship, and quiet contrasts. Early on, she explored visual arts, illustration, and storytelling—constantly searching for ways to translate emotion and heritage into tangible forms.
At 21, she moved to New York and later shifted her focus to Strategic Design and Management at Parsons School of Design. There, she learned to balance intuition with structure, creativity with entrepreneurship. Yet over time, she realized that traditional frameworks alone could not fully express her artistic language.
Drawn by a long-standing fascination with antiques and objects that carry history, Doğa began working at the intersection of old and new—reimagining textiles, objects, and forms through a contemporary lens. Today, her work blends illustration, cultural references, and material exploration, allowing art to live not on walls, but on the body and in everyday life.
